Is It Better Exercise Outdoors?

Image
I found this on Shareware.com, a medical website and it’s worth talking about. I always wonder about the thousands of people who give-up on losing weight. Why would you want to give up? Exercising outdoors can improve your mood and put more oxygen in your blood. Once your accustomed to your exercise routine and want to do it every day, it does make much difference. I exercise outdoors weather permitting, which is different for everyone so don’t woory about it just do the workout. Some just get bored easily indoors, some people just have other commitments that come up. Some people get sick, and some get discouraged when they don’t loss any weight. The outdoor workout can keep you inspired. It’s a fact that people who exercise outdoors stay with the program longer, loss more weight and are happier. I know you can’t always be outdoors but try to exercise outdoor whenever possible. Breathing in clean, fresh air can put more oxygen in your blood and make you feel better. Why O...

The #1 Reason Your Overweight

Image
For years researchers thought that low income and lack of education were the major causes for Americans eating unhealthy foods. Today we know that’s not true. In Fact, the average “fast food” consumer is aware of the bad choices they are making. And if you didn’t know, the average fast-food consumer earns more than twice the poverty level income. So, if it’s not ignorance or income why do Americans gravitate to fast food? The answer is CONVENIENCE!!!! 92% of people polled said that the #1 reason for eating fast food was due to lack of time. They know they should be eating healthier, but they haven’t got the time. O.K., and yes that’s a valid excuse. I think we all know if you're going to eat healthy you have to make it yourself. There lies the problem. Yes, you can go online and find dozens of recipes for a 10-minute meal, but I know you never have the right ingredients or the time to shop. Shopping in a grocery store is hectic. The stores are overcrowded and often we have a...

Eat 5 Meals A Day to Lose Weight

Image
How can I lose weight like that? The whole idea is to control blood sugar levels and avoid food cravings. You will still be eating less calories than you do now, and you’ll be eating healthier. Yes, today anyone preaching weight loss will tell you to eat every 2 to 3 hours to avoid cravings. It’s cravings that cause you to “impulse eat” and eat the wrong things. That’s harder then it sounds if you work all day. If you have a weight problem or maybe too much body fat, your probably overeating when you do eat. There’s a great article below, written by a working mom who happens to be a Chef and I already know what your going to say. Well, a Chef can through a meal together in minutes, it takes me forever. If you have a weight problem your doing it wrong. Your not eat often enough, your eating the wrong foods and when your eating a meal, your eating too much. When I first started to eat frequent meals, I was eating 6 meals a day, but not the size meals you might think. I ke...

What To Drink If You Want to Lose Weight

Image
It’s boring, but everything you read today will tell you about the best thing for you when you’re trying to lose weight, is water, 64 oz. a day.  If you think water is too boring, you have problems. Okay, I know you’re rolling your eyes, but water is really good for you. And people are catching on. In the last 20 years, the sales of bottled water and designer water outsells soda. And if you’re reading financial papers Coke and Pepsi are worried. They’re scrambling to try to recapture share-of-market. That’s what all retail companies live or die by. There’s hope for those of us who need flavored water if we are to consume 64 oz. You can make flavored water at home. I like Basil, orange water. It’s what I drink if I crave a salty snack, usually mid-afternoon. The taste kills the cravings, and the drink looks beautiful in the glass, so I feel like I’m treating myself. You can find recipes for making flavored water on the internet, pick the ones without ca...

How I Lost 50 pounds And Still Losing

Image
I changed the way I looked at food and what it meant to be healthier. I lost 50 pounds and am now at my goal weight. Along the way, I lowered my blood pressure and blood sugar, lowered by cholesterol, and my pulse or heart rate is about 10 beats slower.  “I had a tendency to do what I call all or nothing at all,”  I’d get really hungry and then I’d go binge on pizza or whatever other high-fat food I enjoyed at the time. There was a tendency to want to get the weight off fast, wanting quick results, but not really able to stick with it because it was too extreme.” I finally realized it wasn’t a time-limited thing. It wasn’t like, ‘Well, I’m going to be really good and stay on this food plan now until I get the weight off.’ It was more a realization that ‘You know, if I want to weigh 170 to 175 pounds, then I have to do these things. I can’t stop doing them just because I lose the weight.’ “So it became much more of a lifestyle change than a temporary diet. The idea that somehow...

Why Can't I Lose Weight?

Often, we watch other people and think that if we just copy what they are doing we can look like that too. But losing body fat is a lot harder than it might look. When you are watching others exercise, like in a gym, they might never have had the weight problem you have.  Every one's body is different, it's almost impossible to copy someone else's workout and think you can look like that. In order to lose weight and keep it off you have to lose fat. The only way to lose fat is to change your diet and your body will burn your excess fat over time. It might take two months; it might take two years. My story is about a decade long battle to lose weight. I started by joining a lux gym. It had a track, pool, sauna, hot tubs, dozens of machines, and a weight room for those who pump iron. Also, you could join an exercise class or play racquetball. My wife and I used the gym almost every day hoping for quick results. My wife had more luck than me. One day she told me, "You ha...

Why Am I Always Soo Tied?

Image
Remember back when you were 25 and how much did you weigh back then? Well, if your anything like me, I gained about 30 pounds before I was 35 and an additional 20 over the next 10 years.  In my case my activity level dropped and my appetite grew. I actually grew from 170 pounds to 220. I went from a 34 waist to a 38 inch waist. That was the breaking point for me. It was like the cigarette machine jumbed up to 50 cents. I couldn't believe it. "That's it I quit." I guess I gave away my age, but that's how the public stops inflation. You have to say no to higher prices and if enough people stop buying the price will go down.  So back to weight and being tired. When a person is 25 years old, they are fully grown and fully developed. Meaning the organs are as large as they should be for your size. Then after 30 most men start to add weight and size. Your organs have to nourish the entire body no matter how big or small. The more weight and size you gain over the years...
