This is a great article, it confirms the same things I write about. Losing body fat is a big part of being healthy and doing exercise while you diet can speed up the weight loss. I've written about this before, exercise has a two-fold purpose. You're speeding up your metabolism when you exercise and you're increasing your muscle mass. Now increasing muscle mass does two things. First, your body burns more calories even if you do nothing. Muscle mass will burn more calories than fat. So by increasing your muscle weight and reducing the weight of your fat you actually will burn more calories just doing your normal routine. A nutrient in meat and eggs may conspire with gut bacteria to make the blood more prone to clotting, a small study suggests. The nutrient is called choline. Researchers found that when they gave 18 healthy volunteers choline supplements, it boosted their production of a chemical called TMAO. That, in turn, increased their blood cells' tendency to clot. But the researchers also found that aspirin might reduce that risk. TMAO is short for trimethylamine N-oxide. It's produced when gut bacteria digest choline and certain other substances. Past studies have linked higher TMAO levels in the blood to heightened risks of blood clots,  heart  attack, and stroke, said Dr. Stanley Hazen, the senior researcher on the new study. These findings, he said, give the first direct evidence that choline revs up TMAO production in the human gut, which then makes platelets (a type of blood cell) more prone to sticking together. Losing weight is a balancing act between the number of calories you eat and the number of calories you burn. For example, a woman depending on height should stay in a range of 1500 to 2000 calories a day. A man depending on height can consume say 1800 to 2500 calories. Those estimates will depend on your age and activity levels (how much you workout). Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you eat. This is important, you can’t exercise away a lot of calories. A normal workout, say a combination of running and walking for an hour, will only burn about 300 calories and that’s based on someone who is experienced at this type of workout. Someone new at this type of routine, you might only burn 100 calories. If your counting your calorie intake and don’t forget the drinks, You can balance the "consumption to burn" ratio by cutting back on sugary beverages and snacks. I found a great article about my favorite snack food. We all snacks to get us through the afternoon. Most of us go to the snack machine and find something like chips or candy when we should be eating nuts, apples, or berries. Bring your own snacks. This will prevent you from overdosing on salt or sugar. You can buy good snack food at the supermarket. If they have a bulk food section even better. If you're watching your weight better off staying away from foods with a label. Manufactured foods are made to taste good, not good for you.
