Will High Blood Sugar Keep You From Losing Weight?
Are you eating healthier and getting more active, but still not losing any weight?
I’ve got great news, and it comes from an unlikely source.
Diabetes researchers just uncovered a weight-loss roadblock:
High blood sugar is hijacking your weight loss.
It doesn’t matter how much you exercise, or how healthy you eat…
“If your blood sugar is high, it’s almost impossible to lose weight.”
Think it might be high blood sugar that’s keeping you fat? Here’s a few ways to tell:
- You get tired easily
- You’re frequently thirsty
- A rapid heartbeat
- Dry skin
- You have a hard time concentrating
- Shortness of breath.
If you ever experience one or more of these symptoms, it could be high blood sugar that won’t let you lose weight.
I wrote about blood sugars before because a spike in blood sugars can cause food cravings and stimulate your appetite when your not really hungry forcing you to overeat and add more body fat. The problem with food cravings is that we will often eat the first thing we can find instead of choosing something healthy.
So yes, blood sugars or glucose levels play a big role in being overweight and high blood sugars is very dangerous for anyone. If you have any of the symptoms, you should see a doctor. Actually if your overweight for your height you want your doctor to do regular blood work and check your blood sugars regularly. Out -of-control blood sugar levels can be very dangerous and shouldn't be taken lightly.
If your under a doctors care now and are trying to lose weight but can't, it might be your medication and your doctor may be able to change that. Any time your under a doctors care or if you are seriously overweight, you want to let a doctor help you lose weight. Losing weight can be complicated if your not in good health.
