Do You Keep A Food Log?
If you really want to lose weight you have to keep a food log. This is probably the number one reason people don’t succeed in losing weight. And even after you lose, you want to continue to keep the log just to maintain your weight. It’s not that writing down all your calories makes you lose weight, but it’s the way to find the mistakes and correct them before they turn into a big problem. If your really serious about losing your body fat you don't want to start over. The idea is to just do this one time and don't look back. Don't ever return to your old self.
Because we can put APPS for anything we want on our smartphones, keeping a food log is easier than ever. I use MyFitnessPal or you could try UnderArmour. In fact there are dozens of APPS to help with weight loss and most are free.
If you don’t have a smartphone you can download food logs on several different websites. But if you still are not into technology but are trying to lose weight, you can keep a log for calorie intake and for your exercise by using a journal book and logging everything you do everyday.
Keeping a log really works, just don’t cheat. Write down everything. I found it easier to keep track by making menus in advance and use them for shopping and if I stick to the menu when I make my meals, than I know what I have to log in the journal.
By planning your meals before you shop you can save money or use that same money to buy high quality foods to help you lose weight.
Most of us spend too much money on snacks and drinks. If you stick to real food, fresh produce, fresh meat in moderation (once a month), poultry, fish, and whole grain, olive oil and nuts you will consume very little animal fat. I know this might sound crazy but while your losing weight don’t eat dairy. It has animal fat and you want to try and avoid animal fat with one exception, Greek yogurt. You can have low-fat Greek yogurt.
I advise you to buy a protein supplement. All the grocery stores and places like Walmart and the health food stores all carry protein power. Because you keep the food log it's easy to calculate roughly how much protein your eating. It's important to know that. When you workout every day you have to consume 60 to 80 grams or more of protein to keep your muscles from becoming sore. You can't get all your protein from meat because all meat has animal fat and that's your diet's enemy.
This is a diet low in fat, the object is if you don’t eat fat the body will burn your stored fat. It worked for me.
