Think About Changing Your Diet

We’re finding more and more that our body will do the healing if we eat the proper foods. For instance, on the Today Show this morning Dr. Oz was demonstrating how cancer grows in your body and that we all have these cancer cells but because some people aren’t getting a proper amount of certain foods, the cancer cells will grow and keep growing until we can detect them. Celery, onions, and Leeks will stop cancer cells from growing, but you need to eat them 5 times a week. Remember we all have these cells, we need to stop them before they are large enough to be detected. And He also said that medicine has nothing that will do this.

Similar remedies can solve most of our bodies problems. Some problems we know how to solve, but we still have to rely on medicine for most of the remedies. Today we’ve gotten away from eating the way our grandparents ate. In countries where people still eat fresh foods every day, you don’t have the large amount of illness that we see in our urban cities.

Maybe medicine doesn’t have all the answers yet, and maybe the best they can do is treat the symptoms, but my doctor always has the same answer to most of my questions. Eat a well-balanced diet and take a vitamin D3 supplement. Eating a well-balanced diet is the little secret that seems to be a mystery. What exactly is the well-balanced diet? and where can I buy it. Well, it turns out that lots of frozen food companies say they sell a well-balanced meal in a box and all you do is microwave it, but I haven’t talked to many satisfied customers. Most of the people I’ve talked to don’t stay on the diet plan very long because it’s not enough food, after a few days their snacking between meals. And how do you know if you're getting any nutrition from that box of food. The only thing you can believe is the calorie count, nutritional value on a label is all smoke and mirrors.

The best advice I have for you is to do research on the internet. Use sites like Mayo Clinic, Wedmd.com, Medicine.net, Cleveland Clinic or Doctoroz.com. Use sites that don’t promote weight loss products or exercise equipment. You don’t want to buy anything unless your doctor advises it. The people who have had the most success losing weight have done it with the help of their doctor.  There’s lots of free information on the internet and most of it is good. Beware of those selling something. Remember you can’t believe everything you read.

If you use the internet, look up Mediterranean Diet and most likely you'll find a chart or what some call a pyramid. The pyramid shows you what you should be eating every day, Food you should eat three times a week and foods you should only eat occasionally. If it's not on the pyramid you don't eat it. This diet has been around for a thousand years or more. People in the Mediterranean area have been eating this way for centuries and they're much healthier than North American. They eat fruits, nuts, vegetables, dairy and lean meats. It's a way of life to help you stay healthy.
