Guy’s After Thanksgiving

This is the time when most of us realize that we have an overeating problem. Last thursday we stuffed ourselves with all our favorite foods and drank all we could possibly hold, then we suffered all friday and now on saturday we’re promising ourselves that we’ll never do that again. Even if you didn’t go that far, you know what I mean, we’ve all been there. But of course it’s several weeks until January, there will be many parties and many dinners out before the season is over. Personally I always gain weight during the Holiday. I use to gain about 10 pounds during each holiday season and spend the next 6 months trying to lose it. No more, I don’t go through that any more. Yes, I gain a pound or two but that’s all. I learned not to make myself uncomfortable eating, I try everything so as to not offend anyone, but now I eat like my skinny little cousin. Guys like me could take a lesson from skinny women. They stay skinny because they practice portion control. Some girls don’t even know they’re doing it. It’s the way they always eat. Watch sometime, they take a small spoon of many things and sample everything on the plate, but rarely finish anything. They drink diet drinks, white wine, or maybe clear vodka on ice. Of all the alcohol, clear vodka or clear tequila has the lest amount of sugar. Tequila is actually made from a cactus plant and has the lest amount of sugar. Clear Tequila is the alcohol that’s the closest to being organic then any of the other types of alcohol. O.K., I know guy’s don’t eat or drink like that, but if you want to control your weight, you have to make some changes. You can adjust to anything, it’s all about what you want to do. Of course now you already ate everything in site the last couple of days so now what do you do? Well you can start by walking, outside would be great, but you can go to the mall. You have to shop anyway, and even if your not going to buy, you can get some ideas, see what other men are buying, maybe you can get some deals. Spending the afternoon at the mall keeps you away from the frig and keeps you moving. Drink water as much as possible. It helps to flush your system and drinking plenty of water will keep you from being hungry. Most guy’s put on excess calories by drinking beer, sodas, designer coffees and mix drinks. The normal male adult will burn about 1800 to 2000 calories a day even if they don’t workout and if they do workout, they may burn another 300 to 500 calories more, that’s all. Most men will drink more calories than they burn and then add the calories from food and they may consume 2 or 3 thousand calories over there limit each day. So you might ask, ‘why don’t I gain weight everyday”? Well, because some days your activity level is higher and burn more calories. For instance, on Monday thru Friday you go to work and you spend more time on your feet then you would at home and less time snacking so you won’t gain on those days. But on the weekend if you spend more time in front of the TV and more time drinking and snacking, we’ll probably gain weight. People who stay active everyday tend not to gain weight. Losing weight is a never ending job that will consume your time everyday. You’ll have to thing about what you eat and drink. “Do I really need this”? “Am I just eating to have something to do. “Do I really need another drink”? These are the questions you should ask yourself everyday if your going to cut back. If your at a desk at work keep a bottle of water next to you. Sipping on water all day can keep you from snacking and if your less hungry you’ll eat less at meals. This tip and other good tips can be found on the internet. Don’t wait until January to do something for yourself, start today by making some small changes.
