Exercise alone doesn’t make you lose weight, in fact, exercise can cause you to gain weight. You have to diet. Exercise helps you to retain muscle mass. The object in losing weight is to lose the fat and lose inches. Checking the scale every day won’t help you lose weight. If your plan is working then you’ll lose inches and your clothes will begin to fit better and even become baggy. You’ll start to have more energy and you’ll actually become a happier person. In our fast-paced society, the Very-Low-Calorie Diet (VLCD) is quickly becoming the chosen fad or method of weight loss. It even comes with a guarantee of shedding those unwanted pounds yesterday. Extreme measures of weight loss may be warranted and prescribed during a medical crisis. This would be understandable. However, applying drastic weight loss methods for the everyday person may not be safe or healthy. Many very-low-calorie diets (VLCDs) are now being covered by insurance plans. This has made it even more appealing for people to sign on the dotted line. Not usually understood is only part of the VLCD program may be covered by insurance. Everyone who diets knows about counting calories. The experts have been telling us forever that all we need to do to lose weight is to eat fewer calories. But is that all it’s about? If that’s all there is to losing weight why are so many people overweight? I know, maybe it’s all about carbs? Or they tell us we have to exercise more or your doing the wrong type of exercise. Not really, the whole idea of the low-carb diet was to get you to eat less junk food. Junk food or manufactured foods like you buy in a box in the grocery store is 90% carbs and has almost no nutritional value. But low-carb wasn’t the answer because you would cut back on junk for a while but never quit eating junk completely. And low-carb and low-fat foods usually have more sugar to put taste back in the food. None of that will help you lose permanent weight. So what is the answer to weight loss?  It was great to take a break from that office routine and still have a job but there was consequences. We have more overweight people today in America then ever before. Some of these people have never been overweight before. This alone can cause it's own health crisis. Overweight people can find it harder to find a job. Why, you might ask. Because they can use almost twice as much health benefits as the average employee. Why does that matter? Because most companies budget only a certain percentage for healthcare expenses and don't want to see that amount increasing. It's hard enough for companies to keep up with increasing costs of coverage, but then to add an employee with pre-existing conditions just adds a burden on the budget and can also affect productivity. Most of us who have a weight problem, don’t know they have a problem. They don’t pay attention to their bodies unless something is becoming a problem like your clothes not fitting. I’m not going to paint a rosy picture about how easy it’s going to lose your fat, but losing that fat is essential. You don’t have to worry that much about what the scale says, your goal should be to lose inches in the truck section of your body. The rest will take care of itself. The bad fat your doctor doesn’t want you to have is the fat around your waist. When you measure your waist at the navel it should be half your height. I’m 72 inches tall, my waist should be a 36. I don’t mean a 36 pant size, I mean 36 inches at the navel. Everybody worries about the chemicals that be harmful in vaccines or in the air, but no one seems to worry about the chemicals in the food we eat.
