Can Skipping Dinner Help Me Lose Weight?

Can counting calories only on certain days of the week help you lose weight?. I don’t think so.  What happens to most people is that they tend to go overboard on the other days. You end up with no weight loss. But I do think that the evening meal should be the smallest meal of the day and the only thing I eat after that is a piece of fruit. Among the many strategies for losing weight and aging well – following a low-carb diet, eliminating gluten, getting more exercise – there’s one that’s consistently recommended by researchers: calorie restriction. When you take in fewer calories than you require to maintain your current body weight, you’ll lose weight. There is a new theory that the fewer calories you eat the longer you will live. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself. It means that it’s better to eat food that’s low in calories. And what does that? It means that you should make better choices buying food. Don’t buy frozen food if you can get the same thing fresh. Don’t

This is a little different post than I usually write. I want to thanks the hundreds of people who bought a copy of one of my ebooks. I’m not a professional writer, I just like to write and a friend of mine once told me if I’m going to write I have to write about a subject I love. A subject I can write about every day. A subject that I have personally experienced. I picked weight loss because I have A lifetime of experience. I started wrestling in school when I was 12 years old. I was in 8th grade when the high school coach came to my school and talked to us about joining the wrestling team. I was a big kid, better suited for football, but I want to do both football and wrestling. The coach would come to my school after classes and taught us how to wrestle. We learned the rules and some of the moves and the strategy. By the time I was a Sophomore I was put on the Varsity team. My best year was my Junior year when I when to State. That’s what we all competed for, just a chance to go to t

The Reasons To Eat More Plant-Based Foods

This is a great post. Almost no one eats enough  fruit and vegetables. The vegetarian craze did open people's eyes to the nutrition in plant foods but it also opened our eyes to the importance of protein to the body. Reading this post might change your views. By Robert Preidt   HealthDay Reporter Want to be good to your ticker? Load up on veggies — especially beans, Italian researchers recommend. They've published a comprehensive review of research on eating habits and  heart disease  that provides consistent evidence that eating less salt and animal  proteins  and more plant-based foods are associated with a lower risk of heart disease.  Those good-for-you foods include  whole grains , fruits, veggies, legumes, and nuts. The researchers also recommend replacing butter and other animal fats with non-tropical vegetable fats, such as olive oil. "A mistake we made in the past was to consider one dietary component the enemy and the only thing we had to change," said study

Losing Weight And Keeping It Off

Losing weight in theory is pretty simple, be mindful of what you’re eating and increase your activity. Why do most of us have trouble doing just that? First, I think that most of us were raised to eat the way we eat and that makes it difficult to change. Second, in spite of the fact that 2/3 of adults in this country are overweight, most of us don’t think they have a weight problem.  Being overweight will catch up with you and over 45 you will realize what being overweight has done to your body. Like most of us in middle age we try to play catch-up and get on the “live healthy” bandwagon. Some of us can successfully change and we do. Others how might have been in denial for years find it too difficult and end up quitting. I knew I had a weight problem when my waist grew to big. Your waist size is the gauge you should go by. The average height for adult males is 5′ 10″ or 70 inches and your waist should measure 35 inches at the naval and if it’s larger than that you have a problem. The

Can You Be Kind Of Fat And Still Fit

That's complicated. How do you define "kind of fat". You can have some extra fat and not be overweight. You can be overweight according to the averages published by the government. The FDA publishes in health journals what your weight should be for people of a certain height. Many athletes exceed that weight but they are still in fit condition.  But it is true that excess body fat can cause health problems and slow you down. It can also age your body beyond your years. So it all gets back to how much fat is too much fat. The article below can help you find out where you stand. By Randy Dotinga HealthDay Reporter No amount of extra weight is good for your heart, no matter how fit you are by other measures, new British research shows. “Our findings suggest that if a patient is overweight or obese, all efforts should be made to help them get back to a  healthy weight , regardless of other factors,” said study co-author Camille Lassale, from Imperial College London’s School
