Quick Weight Loss Usually Means Muscle Loss

This is a great article I found about quick weight loss. This is the way those thin celebs did it. You might think that celebrates know how to drop the extra pounds fast, but in reality the only pounds you can lose fast are the ones you gain fast. So, if I gain 3 pounds over the weekend, I can lose it in a couple of days following that weekend. If the fat hangs around for a while it becomes hard and is difficult to lose. People that have been overweight for several months or years now have stubborn fat that will take more time to lose. Don’t stop trying, but you should realize that stubborn fat won’t disappear using a quick weight loss diet. With a fast diet you will lose weight, but mostly muscle. So, “What the difference?” you might ask. First of all, you will weight less but the fat will still be there. You’re not going to change the way you look. And second, your know going to change the way you feel. And the worst part is the weight will come back. Why, when you lose muscle you...

Of Course, this is taken out of context. Read the whole thing.   Dr. Oz Says “Skip Breakfast!”  Should We? Jan 17, 2020 In a video-taped interview this week with Fox News, Dr. Oz admits that doctors don’t learn much about nutrition in med school. I wondered then, how did he discover this remarkable “new” idea of skipping breakfast? He learned this dietary concept through Hugh Jackman. A terrific, talented and one of my favorite actors, but hardly an expert on physiological nutrition. Dr. Oz went on to claim the average person eats continually over a 17 hour day. Very few healthy people I know eat “continuously.” If consuming potato chips at 11pm is a habit, then we have a counseling problem. I do agree that eating before bedtime is not beneficial to sleep. Sleep releases beneficial growth hormones – lack of it leads to mental deterioration, internal stress and illness. “I think for 2020, the first thing I’m going to do is ban breakfast, ” the celebrity doctor...

Is Your Pot Belly Worst Than Love Handles?

Image
This post first appeared on HealthDay and emphasises the need to lose belly fat. Belly fat -- especially hidden fat deep in the gut -- may indicate an increased risk for heart disease. How do you know if you have fat deep in your gut? Your body puts fat under the skin and close to the surface first when it's filling fat cells and that's to insulate the body. That's a survival technique that you inherited from your ancient ancestors who had to worry about surviving through the winter. That layer of fat is not that thick, between one and two inches. Then if you're still adding fat, your body has to put the fat inside the layer of muscle, around the organs and that's fat that causes you health problems. Fat around your heart will make it harder for your heart to function and fat around the liver causes "fatty liver disease". Those are the most important interior organs you have. The six-year study of more than 1,000 adults found people with a "spa...

Getting To A Healthy Weight

Image
Getting to a healthy weight is about changing your lifestyle. Changing what you eat and how you eat. It takes planning to make a lifestyle change. You can’t just make small changes. You have to go all in and start from scratch by first designing a menu you can stick to. You want to eat fresh. Think about that for a minute, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, frozen is o.k., but frozen without any sauce or syrup. You don’t want to buy any frozen foods that are already prepared and ready to heat and eat. When it comes to meat, poultry or fish be careful of the frozen packages. Read the labels to see if there are any added ingredients. Sodium is your enemy when you’re on a diet. Sodium and sugar or fructose (a chemical substitute for sugar) are two ingredients commonly used in frozen foods and both are not good for your diet. I know it might cost extra but you want to buy any meat or seafood fresh and the highest quality. I know you're thinking about your budget; Americans overdose on mea...
